What is BHRT?

Men and women naturally lose hormones throughout their lives, and the symptoms of hormonal imbalance can be debilitating. BHRT, or bioidentical hormone replacement, is a therapy used to help relieve symptoms related to hormonal imbalance and reduced hormone production. These bioidentical hormones simply replace the hormones that are naturally lost as we age. Often hormone replacement therapy is a beneficial solution to symptoms that aren’t always addressed by your medical provider, such as stress, weight gain, foggy thinking, or trouble sleeping. How does it work?

Each patient is genetically unique, so we believe in custom compounding to create a treatment that addresses the specific needs of the patient. BioTe® Medical is one method of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy that uses pellet therapy. While there are also topical and oral therapies on the market, this approach allows the patient to maintain consistent hormone levels throughout the day. Our therapy treatment helps patients avoid the emotional and physical highs and lows that are often side effects of other forms of hormone therapy. With BioTe® Medical bioidentical hormone replacement pellet therapy, patients will only need to receive two to four pellet insertions per year. It’s much simpler than other therapies that require a daily pill, instead, you just need to keep your appointments to receive the injection and don’t have to worry about any extra “at-home” care. With this method, your body will have access to the needed hormone immediately, and you won’t even have to think about it!

When bioidentical hormones enter the body, it usually takes between 7-10 days to feel the effects of the therapy.

Again, each patient is unique, so some may feel relief earlier than others. While most patients experience benefits early, some may not experience the full benefits of BHRT for up to 6 months, so it is important to remain patient throughout the treatment.

Is it safe?
